Believe it or not drivers are better in this regard than they used ot be. Now you'll see some drivers with their lights on as the light is dropping or when it's raining. Ten years ago no one turned their lights on unless it was completely black.
Some - mostly elderly - scooterists would turn their lights off while waiting at traffic lights to save their battery power (or something). You don't see that at all now.
Good point. However, what frustrates me (I blogged about this about a year ago and linking it above)is, as explained in comments in that entry a year ago, turning off lights doesn't save any gas at all! So, the Taiwanese and Chinese drivers are endangering themselves and others for NOTHING. Hai ren hai ji.
i've been wanting to write a venting / ranting post about this for some time now. it really pisses me off. of all the stupid shit that pisses me off about driving in taiwan, this ranks pretty high on the list.
